Welcoming support from all levels of government

Richard Petty FCPA

I am delighted by the strong support from government that we have received for CPA Congress. It is an indication of the good relationships that CPA Australia has developed with governments over time.

Keynote/opening addresses will be given by Premier Kristina Keneally in Sydney; Treasurer John Lenders in Melbourne; Treasurer Michael Aird in Hobart; Chief Minister Tom Pauling AO QC in Darwin; Deputy Premier the Hon Kevin Foley in Adelaide and Chief Minister Jon Stanhope in Canberra. The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industrial Relations Simon Finn will represent Premier Anna Bligh in Brisbane. The fact that so many politicians at such high level have accepted our invitation to speak at CPA Congress is testament to the calibre of the event that we stage.

In addition, all the State Premiers and Chief Ministers in Australia have provided a foreword for CPA Congress 2010 in their jurisdiction. You may have seen an excerpt of their message in the printed brochure; the full text is in our online information. They are very aware of how CPA Congress helps finance, accounting, and business professionals to enhance their skills, and how it promotes opportunities for business growth. Obviously they understand how important it is to be able to Navigate the New!
